What Happens at CityCoast Church?
Sundays at CityCoast Church are exciting times! We meet at 10am and 6.00pm every Sunday. We love to worship, receive Biblical teaching and provide ministry to those who are in need, as well as get together as a family. During Sunday morning meetings we have various options available for children, depending on their age. For more information on our children's work visit the children and young people page.
If you have never visited us before, this is what you can expect from a Sunday at CityCoast Church:
Arriving at CityCoast Church
As you arrive at CityCoast Church you should be greeted by a member of our welcome team who will help direct you to the main auditorium, which is at the top of the staircase on the second floor. There is also a lift to the main auditorium which is accessed through the car park.
At the doors to the main auditorium, you will be greeted again by another welcome team member, who will give you our latest calendar and will be willing to show you to one of our comfortable padded seats.
The Meeting
We start our meetings with some lively praise and worship where we sing modern songs led by a band and worship leader. We don't use hymn books but instead project the words to the songs on a large screen at the back of the stage. During the praise and worship we allow time for God to speak to us through people who will sing a spontaneous song to God, read a portion of the Bible or share a thought of what God wants to communicate to the church.
After the worship we have our announcements (which are presented on video) and also allow time to pray for people who have requested prayer. We also have an offering at this time.Giving to the offering is part of our worship, participating in providing for the financial needs of the church. However, we do not expect visitors to make any contribution to this; please let the baskets pass you by without embarrassment.
Preaching
After a few minutes break our Pastor, David Harland (or someone invited by him), will preach from the Bible, for about 30 minutes, in a way that is inspiring, instructive and edifying.
After the message, there may be an opportunity to respond (directed from the platform) and then the meeting will be closed, perhaps with more worship. By then it’ll be about 12.00 and the children will be ready for collection from their various rooms and everyone is invited to stay for tea and coffee in the café area on the first floor.

Sunday evening meetings
Our evening meetings are a little louder than our morning meetings. We don’t provide a children’s programme in the evening, and the structure is more varied - sometimes it is similar to the morning meeting, sometimes it will be a concert or special event - keep an eye on the what's on page to see what's planned. |
