CityCoast Church believes in and presents the following basic truths:

The Holy Scriptures
Their inspiration and infallibility

The Godhead
Comprising Father, Son and Holy Spirit

The Lord Jesus Christ
His humanity, deity, virgin birth, sinless life, atoning death for the sins of the world, resurrection for our justification, ascension to the Father’s right hand and personal return to reign upon the earth

Salvation
By faith in and confession of Jesus Christ as Lord, producing an upright and moral life

The Ordinances
Water baptism, for all believers by immersion, the Lord’s Supper, celebrated regularly in remembrance of Christ

Divine Healing
Secured for every believer through the atonement of Christ; and deliverance from all bondage to the power of Satan

Baptism of the Holy Spirit
With speaking in other tongues

The Gifts of the Holy Spirit
For the equipment of ministry and the edification of the church; the fruit of the Holy Spirit as the expression of Christian character in

Church Universal
Comprising all born again believers of all nations and denominations under the headship of the Lord Jesus Chris

tBible Prophecy
Its fulfilment in world events, heralding the climax of this age and the return of the Lord Jesus Christ

The Holy Spirit’s Government
The Holy Spirit’s total freedom to govern, to lead and to direct the move of the church

Raising the Standard
A standard of righteousness to be raised up in the life of the nation

1. Loving people
Loving relationships permeate every aspect of life inside and outside the church by:
• Acknowledging that everyone is of equal value
• Putting others before ourselves in all circumstances
• Nurturing healthy families, rebuilding damaged marriages and restoring families in conflict
• Growing a church that is a family to all its members, irrespective of age or status
• Building relationships based on love, trust and integrity

All we do will be culturally relevant

Excellence honours God and inspires greatness, therefore all we do will be done to an excellent standard

4. Living Biblically
We live life according to the Bible, believing obedience and holiness towards God to be more important than man’s opinion

5. Reaching Out
As unbelievers matter to us we:
• Value unbelievers highly and welcome visitors in our meetings.
• Are positive examples and role models of the Christian life
• Reach out into our community to bring positive change
• Train people to reach out into other towns, cities and nations and start COC churches

6. Making Leaders
We encourage the development of leadership in every aspect of people’s lives

7. Spirit Life
All church life will have an atmosphere of joy, passion, expectancy and freedom by:
• Allowing the Holy Spirit to lead us
• Embracing extravagant expressions of our faith
• Valuing the Holy Spirit’s presence and power above everything else
• Expecting miracles, signs and wonders
